Following are 7 of the many dogs we have fostered for other local rescue organizations to help them in obtaining a good adoption home. We take pets from our local shelter, from Encore Pets for flying north to either a no-kill shelter or adoption home, among others.

Aspen, was fostered by us during his neuter recuperation, and was then transported to Richmond, Virginia to the Atlantic Region Central, Border Collie Rescue for adoption. Aspen was a great young dog, full of energy and playful, but still obedient and a quick learner. He loved our dogs, although, because of their advanced age, he couldn't get them to play with him. Aspen was very loveable to us and readily accepted our love back. We hated to give him up, but we know he will find a great home with an organization more educated on the idiosyncrasies of Border Collies. Advised by his new fosters that he was adopted out but returned by the initial adopter, due to food issues, however he was adopted out again and now is happy in his new home.

Duke (brother of Moonlight and Passion aka Ripley) is has been adopted through Encore Pets. From our fostering Duke, we found him to be a playful, fun loving puppy would make a great addition to a family home. Loves to play with our large dogs (but not given back so well). Partially housebroken (sleeps all night in cage) and good when taken outside immediately. Still has some #1 accidents, but only if not taken outside after waking up. Loves to play with toys and cardboard boxes, a very loveable and adorable puppy. Duke is now happily living in a great forever home.

Girl (leaving name to new adopters), was adopted by use for several weeks, awaiting a flight to Illinois by our local organization "DOG GONE", that organizes flights to other states for more availble adopters. Girl, was a typical young dog, full of energy and play. Got along very well with our older dogs, while playing hard with another young dog we fostered. When none would play with her, she provided her own, throwing her toys/dolls around. However, when she was in an exuberant mood, a single command was quickly obeyed. Housebroken, and non-destructive, will hopefully make a great pet for someone at her destination. We totally enjoyed having Girl, and hope that her future family fully enjoys her company also.

We have fostered Nugget for several weeks, for Encore Pets who rescued him from our local shelter to fly north for adoption. Nugget flew out on March 20th from Beaufort, NC airport. Nugget was a great dog to foster, young and energetic, but very observant and trainable. A great dog that we will miss.... Nugget was adopted through Pets Alive in Middletown, NY.

Savanah is full of personality and loves people and seeks them out. She is smart and listens well and has excellent house manners totally litter trained She gets along with other cats and even low key respectful dogs. She has a small frame and beautiful markings. Savannah adds such positive energy to a home. She is always purring and voices small, happy sounds when petted. No issues to deal with and already for a forever home.
