ENCORE PETS TO OPEN LOW-COST MOBILE SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC IN 2012
Encore Pets, Inc, a 501(c)3 registered non-profit in Morehead City, NC, announces its acceptance into the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) National Spay/Neuter (Mobile Clinic) Mentorship Project (http://www.aspcapro.org/aspca-spayneuter-project.php). One of Encore Pets’ primary goals is to reduce the homeless animal population in our region. With the support of the ASPCA, Encore Pets will bring a low-cost mobile spay/neuter clinic to Carteret County in 2012 to help ease this burden.
The Encore Pets mobile spay/neuter clinic will provide services primarily to low-income, under-served members of the community, as well as animal shelters, rescue groups, and feral cat caregivers. They will concentrate initial efforts in Carteret County and eventually provide services to neighboring counties as well. The ASPCA National Spay/Neuter Project will provide Encore Pets with hands-on training. And, before, during, and after the start-up of the mobile clinic, Encore Pets will receive the benefit of the ASPCA’s expertise in operating high-quality, high-volume mobile spay/neuter clinics.
Initial funding for the mobile clinic has been provided by a generous gift from the Gunhilde Brandt Animal Care Fund. But, the target goal is $275,000 for the purchase and initial setup of the Mobile Low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic for Eastern N.C.
